GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna has officially gone public with his relationship with Dorothy Martin, revealing the news during an April 23 appearance on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk.
During the interview, Erna confirmed for the first time that he and the DOROTHY singer are a couple, while also opening up about their recent musical collaboration on a new track titled “Set Me Free.”
Speaking about the song, Erna teased (as transcribed by Blabbermouth): “It’s actually really good. It’s a banger. It’s coming out soon.”
He went on to explain how both the relationship and the collaboration grew out of shared personal experiences: “Me and her connected originally because we both went through some history and with bad relationships. A lot of people kind of go through these things, but we have the opportunity to kind of voice it and vent it through our art. So we both kind of had gone through a similar situation that just felt really appropriate to kind of write about it and set it free. And the song became obvious. And it’s just a down-and-dirty good hard rock song. And it’s not a ballad, it’s nothing sappy. It’s actually the opposite.”
Martin, who recently turned 40, also appeared on the show and didn’t hold back when speaking about Erna. “I love this man,” she said about the 58-year-old musician. “He’s such a good, solid man. I feel safe with him. And we had a wonderful friendship for months and months. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. My face hurts.”
Fans will soon get the chance to see the pair share the stage as well. GODSMACK are set to launch their “Rise Of Rock World Tour 2026” across North America next month, with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and DOROTHY joining as special guests.
