KMR, a retail store based in London, has disclosed that burglars made off with high-end microphones worth over $100,000. These included models from prestigious brands such as Sony, Telefunken, and Neumann, among others, as revealed by Gear News.
However, the heist might not have gone as smoothly as the thieves had initially planned. They overlooked the crucial detail that most of these high-end microphone models necessitate an external power supply to function.
In their haste, the culprits absconded with the costly microphones but neglected to seize the accompanying power supplies. This oversight could render a majority of the stolen goods unworkable.
The thieves will likely abandon many of the models once they realize their blunder, resulting in the devices being wasted.
KMR has taken to social media to share this unfortunate incident, stating: “We’re sad to report we were burgled a couple of nights ago. The scrotes got away with a large number of high-end mics although they’ve left the power supplies so we don’t expect they’ll be of much use to either themselves or to anybody else who knows about these things! This helps narrow down the field somewhat – we’re on the lookout for crims with very high IQ’s – possibly in possession of an Oxbridge masters in ‘Why Isn’t This Making Any Noise’ or similar.”
