Fan reaction has been swift following the release of pro-shot footage from TRIVIUM’s 2025 appearance at Bloodstock Open Air, with many viewers focusing less on the music and more on what they believe is missing from the video.
The professionally filmed set — recorded on August 8, 2025 in Walton-on-Trent, UK and uploaded online on February 20 — showcases a 17-song performance from the band. However, across YouTube, Reddit and social media, fans have pointed out the apparent lack of close-up shots of former drummer Alex Bent, sparking accusations that his presence was deliberately minimized in the final edit.
Some of the reactions (via Metal Injection) include:
“You guys editing out the drummer of every clip is diabolical and this is coming from someone who watches every single Bloodstock upload. Super disappointing!”
“@Bloodstockfestivals, in the ‘TRIVIUM is’ section you left off Alex Bent, the drummer at the time of the concert recording. Not giving Alex Bent credit and leaving him out is wrong and offensive to TRIVIUM fans.”
“bloodstock even went through the bother to mention matt, Paulo and Corey, fully left out Alex, #bullieees”
“Yo why the disrespect for Alex? He played the show it makes no sense to cut him out… super disrespectful to someone who put so much in”
“Jfc you guys and the drummers. Give Bent the respect he deserves.”
TRIVIUM announced their split with Bent in October 2025, two months after the Bloodstock performance took place. At the time, Bent reflected on his nearly nine-year tenure with the group, stating:
“I am beyond grateful for the incredible past nine years with TRIVIUM — filled with unforgettable moments, music, and friendships that I’ll always carry with me. I’m so proud of every record and tour we created together, and I know TRIVIUM will continue to dominate the world; they’ll always have my support.
“While this chapter has come to a close, this is by no means the end of my path as a musician. I’m excited for this new chapter, and I look forward to continuing to create, perform, and share music in new ways.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Your encouragement means the world.”
“Weird and uncool decision to cut the drummer from the footage. You can’t just pretend like he wasn’t there (for years).”
Bent joined TRIVIUM in late 2016 after the departure of Paul Wandtke. Before that, he performed with BATTLECROSS and DECREPIT BIRTH, and also filled in for TESTAMENT drummer Gene Hoglan.
His addition to TRIVIUM was widely praised at the time, and he went on to appear on several of the band’s studio releases and world tours, becoming a central part of their rhythm section during a significant era.
As of now, neither the band nor Bloodstock organizers have issued a statement addressing the editing concerns, but debate among fans shows no sign of slowing down.
