TWO TOO MANY Are ‘Two Too Many’

Two Too Many (the name taken from the epic intro to Sergio Leone’s “Once Upon A Time In The West”) started life as a rocked-up CCR tribute band, treading the boards in their adopted Amsterdam home since 2015, after a chance meeting at the city’s famous Melkweg venue. The line-up of Damien Coughlan (vocals), JJ Ferr (guitar), Damon Maddison (bass) and Niall Cleary (drums) has remained stable throughout the years and eventually, the outfit developed into a strong and original quartet in their own right, bringing with them a song-craft that puts them ahead of most of the pack. Two Irishmen, a Canadian and an Englishman, they deal in energetic rock n’ roll with a nod to classic rock bands from years gone by, appealing to fans of Guns n’ Roses, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC and more.

The band’s first single, “Got My Rock n’ Roll b/w Drift Away,” with its accompanying video, generated plenty of positive reviews and airplay both domestically and internationally. The eponymous first album, recorded like the single at IJland Studios in Amsterdam, picks up in very much the same vein, delivering a hard-hitting punch, laced with melody and craft, with a diversity that keeps the songs fresh and interesting. Two Too Many have built up a loyal and fanatical following in their home city and now the rest of the world can get to hear what all of the fuss is about.
