As we find ourselves coming upon the end of another year, we look back yet again at what has been thrown our way with all that the world of metal has brought forth in the last twelve months. I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but feel like this has been a tremendous year for the genre!
While we may not have been spoiled with albums from many juggernauts with names like Slipknot, Megadeth, Amon Amarth, and Ozzy of the few that managed to bring us new material, this has indeed been the year of the rising underground names like never before. The golden age of the underground was in full swing this year, and it’s time to give credit where it is wildly due! No matter your preference in style, there has been an absolutely massive list of bands out there that have managed to deliver new material, hold us hostage, and work their devilish crafts in ways that are downright awe-inspiring. No doubt whatsoever, metal still has so much to offer us as we move ever forward.
