CARACH ANGREN reveal their latest single, “The Resurrection of Kariba,” from the upcoming EP The Cult of Kariba. A centerpiece of the narrative, the track embodies both ritualistic grandeur and devastating tragedy. Opening in an underground crypt beneath a church floor, the cult gathers by candlelight to summon Kariba, the fabled poisoner and alleged witch of the Schinveld legend. The music conjures this scene through layers of orchestration, searing guitars, and ritualistic intensity, before plunging into Kariba’s origin: condemned as a witch, forced to witness her children hanged, her grief and venom birthing a monstrous rebirth.

At 4:44 in length, the song captures both the ceremony of resurrection and the weight of historical torment, weaving cinematic orchestrations with blackened undertones. Yet the invocation does not unfold as intended: rather than calling forth Kariba’s spirit alone, the ritual unleashes something far more malevolent, one of her betrayed victims, awakened with vengeance. Within the broader arc of The Cult of Kariba, this single stands as a climactic turning point, where myth, folklore, and horror converge into a revelation of catastrophic consequence.

Accompanying the release is a 3D lyric video crafted by Tamara Llenas of Aimed & Framed, visually immersing the viewer in the ritual’s atmosphere while echoing the EP’s themes of occult gatherings and spectral return.

The Cult of Kariba EP is out October 17th via Season of Mist.
