MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine reportedly wasn’t happy with new guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari‘s performance during MEGADETH second concert Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 14.
Mäntysaari apparently failed to deliver acoustic solo on “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due,” which prompted Mustaine not to congratulate him like he did to rest of the members at the end of the show.
One user commented on YouTube video “Megadeth – Funny Moments And Fails. Buenos Aires 2024,” summarizing it: “In the first clip I think Teemu was supposed to take place at the center of the stage to play the solo and he didn’t. In the second clip there are some technical problems with the audio, probably with Dave´s monitors. The third clip is Dave complaining about the crowd from the night before lol. In the fourth clip Teemu hooked his pick on the strings and he couldn’t finish the solo. And the last one is Dave congratulating everyone but Teemu maybe for ruinning that solo lol.”

Mäntysaari stepped in as the lead guitarist on MEGADETH‘s North American tour in September 2023 as guitarist Kiko Loureiro tended to undisclosed family matters. He was appointed on Loureiro’s recommendation.
