Guitarist Galdur (Full name: Tom Rune Andersen Orre) has left DIMMU BORGIR after nearly a quarter-century of tenure.
In a statement released earlier today, Galdur revealed that his final performance with the black metal titans took place the previous night.
The guitarist explained that after careful consideration over several years, he has made the decision to leave the band to focus on his other musical project, OLD MAN’S CHILD.
His full statement reads as follows: “Yesterday I played my last show with DIMMU BORGIR. After almost 25 years of making music and playing with DIMMU BORGIR I have decided to leave the band.
“I have been thinking about this for years and as many of you have been pointing out – it’s time for OLD MAN’S CHILD to get on stage again and finalizing new album.

OLD MAN’S CHILD‘s latest studio album, Slaves of the World, was released in 2009 via Century Media Records.
