Rapper OsamaSon alleges that he’s facing a lawsuit from IRON MAIDEN for allegedly appropriating artwork from the “Powerslave” single for the deluxe edition cover of his latest album.
A screenshot from OsamaSon’s now-expired Instagram Story shows Kurrco reporting on the purported legal action: “Iron Maiden is suing me so… ……cover is gone,” the rapper wrote, tagging the band’s handle.
The iconic artwork by Derek Riggs for IRON MAIDEN‘s 1984 masterpiece “Powerslave” portrays their mascot Eddie, mummified from the chest up, being electrified while biting down on a chain. This image is one of several memorable visuals associated with the album.
The rendition featured in Osamason‘s record appears to be a clear imitation, predominantly showcasing a darker grey Eddie, with subtle alterations around the mouth and slight distortions. Instead of the vibrant blue backdrop with sporadic lightning, an off-center pinkish hue envelops Eddie, bordered by darker tones along the upper and left edges.
