BEHEMOTH’s NERGAL Picks His Favorite GHOST Song

GHOST, the renowned Swedish Satanic-rock group, have made remarkable strides since their celebrated 2010 debut album Opus Eponymous up to present day with Impera.

In a new interview with Revolver magazine, BEHEMOTH mastermind Adam “Nergal” Darski was asked to pick his favorite GHOST song, to which he responded: “I discovered GHOST when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I was having chemotherapy at a hospital in Gdańsk [Poland] and had picked up a copy of Terrorizer, which included a compilation CD that featured Ghost. It could have been the song “Ritual,” or maybe another track from the debut record, but I was straight-up blown away.

He continued: “Hooked from day one, I was an instant GHOST fan! I remember trying to buy GHOST merch from my hospital bed and managed to grab a jersey. By the second album, the band was on tour in Sweden. I traveled to Stockholm specially to see them. Tobias [Forge, GHOST leader] and I had become friends, and he hooked me up with tickets. It must have been a 500-cap room, maybe 1,000 people tops. It was very early on in their career, yet already very, very impressive.

GHOST‘s latest studio album, Impera, was released on March 11 via Loma Vista/Concord. Album can be heard via Amazon here. The theme of Impera mainly focuses on “the rise and fall of empires”. The album received widespread critical acclaim.
