Dave Grohl is making a significant effort to repair his marriage with Jordyn Blum after admitting to having a child outside of their marriage.
However, the strain on their relationship is becoming increasingly difficult for him to handle, and sources suggest he may be reaching his breaking point.
“He’s gone from being rock god to scumbag overnight, it’s changed the dynamic and he hates it,” a source told In Touch magazine.
“He admits he was wrong, but he’s under total scrutiny, he has no freedom. He’s offering up phone text messages and constantly apologizing and going to therapy,” the source continued.
“He’s trying to be a good dad but at the same time it’s frustrating and he doesn’t understand that these things can take months, even years to fix.”
A separate source previously informed the publication that Dave chose to make the news public because he was concerned it might leak through other channels.
“He feared the mother or someone else would spill the news,” source claimed. “It’s his way to own up that he’s made mistakes.”
Earlier this month, it was reported that FOO FIGHTERS are planning to go on an “indefinite hiatus” after Grohl revealed he fathered a child outside of his marriage.
The band unexpectedly canceled their scheduled performance at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with only three days’ notice.
Source close to the band disclosed the reasons for the hiatus, with one source sharing the details with The Sun, saying: “It’s been a turbulent few years, with the loss of their best friend, drummer Taylor Hawkins, the death of Dave‘s mum and now the birth of his new child.
“He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family. Being on the road isn’t the best thing for any of them at the moment. It feels like a hiatus is the best thing for them collectively.”
Grohl shared the news on social media on September 10, stating: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
