In a forthcoming interview with The Shawn Ryan Show, MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine opened up about his views on the tragic deaths of Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, suggesting the circumstances surrounding their passing were “very suspicious.” His comments were teased in the trailer for the upcoming episode.
When asked what advice he would give to young people looking to enter the music industry, Mustaine offered a stark warning. “Yes, you have to be very careful from p**ophilia,” he said (as transcribed by Metal Addicts). “You know, there’s a lot of stuff that’s in the TV right now with Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs, Jeffrey Epstein, with all these people that are coming out now getting busted for these crazy orgies and sex parties and everything.”
Mustaine continued, expressing deep concern over the issue. “That breaks my heart that somebody that was an adult with a functioning mind, no matter how depraved it is, would assault an innocent child. That to me is… it’s reprehensible. And I don’t know why there isn’t stricter punishment for that. I think a lot of it is because people just don’t know what’s happening.”
The conversation soon shifted to the high-profile deaths of SOUNDGARDEN’s Chris Cornell and LINKIN PARK’s Chester Bennington—two beloved figures in the rock and metal world. Mustaine expressed his belief that their deaths may not have been as straightforward as they seemed.
“There are a lot of very famous musicians that the rumor has it were executed because they were getting ready to expose pe**philia,” Mustaine said.
When host Shawn Ryan sought clarification, asking, “Executed as in killed?” Mustaine replied: “Well, the rumors going around about Chester from LINKIN PARK and Chris from SOUNDGARDEN was that they were making a movie on child abuse and child trafficking, I think it was. They’re both gone, and it’s very suspicious.”
The full interview with Mustaine is set to air soon on The Shawn Ryan Show, where the MEGADETH frontman is expected to delve deeper into his thoughts on the darker side of the entertainment industry.
