Furor Gallico – Future to Come Review

Facebook is turning into one of the most important sites to find new bands. There is no doubt about that. The number of bands I ran into there is almost uncountable. Fun fact is that most of them are of a more modern Metal slant. Maybe because their members are younger and mostly grew up with the social media. I admit I had very pleasant surprises. Furor Gallico with “Future to Come” are one of them with an album that did what I thought it would be almost impossible. That is to mix old features with brand new ones bringing up a very exciting music. A mix of Folk Metal, Power Metal with lots of features of modern Metal as vocals and effects that will blow up my dear child of the night’s mind.

By album opener “Call of the Wind” my dear child of the night will get a hold of the band’s unique approach with Folk Metal. Maybe one of the bands that make it possible to mix all those influences together. The song opens up with a delicate guitar strumming that soon turns into the furious typical mix of the band with some 1980’s guitar echo effects. The harsh vocals contrast with the delicate violins and the female voice that does the chorus. Well, allow me to say: a masterpiece. Not to mention the prowess of all musicians of the band. It won’t be a surprise to anyone that this album might be also considered a Technical Death Metal album, if you ask me. Oh, gosh, I just loved the violins mixed with the hard guitars. Following track “Among the Ashes” is more of a mix of Power Metal with Folk Metal plus the harsh vocals with a modern Metal slant. It’s interesting how the band changes everything in the song with only a few chords. “Among the Ashes” started the way I said to soon get more of a Symphonic Metal with the addition of the female voice and flutes and violins. Maybe I got the spirit of Furor Galico which is to get a big fuss melting together all Metal influences they possibly get and turn into something very, but very exciting.

I invite my dear child of the night to get to know of one the most exciting bands one will ever listen this year. Furor Gallico with “Future to Come” are one of the best things I’ve got to listen this year so far. No, I’m not kidding. There is much more with the album. Go get it.
