At a Nashville concert celebrating BON JOVI keyboardist David Bryan‘s birthday on Saturday, Kid Rock abruptly left the stage mid-performance.
The Detroit rocker, a special guest, had joined Bryan and other musicians to perform CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL‘s “Proud Mary.” A TikTok video and reports from Taste of Country indicate that after asking the audience to clap along, Kid Rock became dissatisfied with their response, leading to his onstage exit and refusal to continue the performance.
He asked the crowd to clap, but seemed dissatisfied with the level of enthusiasm.
“No! (Expletive them). Hey, hey, stop. If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing,” Rock told the crowd. “That’s how it’s gonna go.”
Rock tried again to sing, but roughly 45 seconds later, he once more appeared unhappy with the audience’s reaction.
“You know what, f**k y’all. You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone,” he then said before leaving the set.
