LAMB OF GOD brought a ferocious energy to the “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert for BLACK SABBATH, delivering a crushing rendition of the 1971 classic “Children Of The Grave” during their set at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5.
Taking the stage at 3:00 p.m., the Richmond, Virginia groove metal giants wasted no time paying homage to the godfathers of heavy metal. Their version of “Children Of The Grave” stayed true to the spirit of the original while infusing it with LAMB OF GOD‘s signature intensity.
LAMB OF GOD was part of an all-star lineup curated by Tom Morello and hosted by Jason Momoa, with the concert serving as a massive sendoff to BLACK SABBATH in their hometown of Birmingham. Other performers included SLAYER, METALLICA, PANTERA, GOJIRA, TOOL, GUNS N’ ROSES, and more — alongside special “supergroup” sets and appearances by rock royalty like Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Fred Durst, and Sammy Hagar.
Though the concert was announced as a livestream, it’s airing with a two-hour delay. Fans in the U.S. can tune in at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT to witness LAMB OF GOD’s performance and much more.
