SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian has shared his thoughts on Machine Gun Kelly covering his band’s song.
As previously reported, during a yesterday’s appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” Machine Gun Kelly performed a cover version of SYSTEM OF A DOWN‘s classic. “Aerials.”
SOAD fans were not particularly happy with MGK‘s performance, with one commenting on video, “Damn he killed it. Not in a good way though.”
While another added, “When you order Layne Staley from Wish.”
Now, Malakian took to Instagram to post MGK‘s take on SOAD‘s song and wrote the following: “I don’t know much about Machine Gun Kelly, it’s always an honor when someone covers your song, so I can’t hate the guy for giving it a shot.”
Among the people who reacted to Machine Gun Kelly‘s attempt at “Aerials” was SYSTEM OF A DOWN bassist Shavo Odadjian who shared video of the performance on Instagram and asked his followers for their “thoughts on MGKs cover of Aerials live on Howard Stern.”
