Catholic Priest Plays Bleed By Meshuggah On Drums

A video of a Catholic priest drumming to MESHUGGAH‘s “Bleed” has become a viral sensation. Father Hyacinth Marie Cordell of St. Patrick Church in Philadelphia plays drums for the worship group Saints Alive Music and often shares his drumming performances on Instagram.

A clip featuring his rendition of “Bleed” was uploaded on June 24 and has since garnered over 200,000 likes.

Cordell wrote as a caption to the clip: “Catholic priest plays MESHUGGAH (Bleed part 2, with variations), dedicated to St. John the Baptist on the Solemnity of his Nativity”.

In 2008, MESHUGGAH unleashed “Bleed” as a single from their critically acclaimed album, obZen. The song’s complex drum work, laid down by MESHUGGAH‘s longtime drummer Tomas Haake, quickly stole the spotlight.
