Freedom Call – Silver Romance Review

A very, but very enthusiastic album. Their 2023’s alive album “The M.E.T.A.L. Fest” showed us that. That’s what “Silver Romance” is. Freedom Call deliver a facete of Power Metal that might not be very known of many fans. It’s the enthusiastic and energetic with lots of emotional tunes. Though I guess some tracks as “Out of Space,” “In Quest of Love,” and “High Above” have a high dosage of 1980’s keyboards the album gives the fan a great idea of what Power Metal can be with some enthusiasm. But, even those tracks have their share of an energy that only Power Metal can deliver the fan. I praise the positive message the band sends to their fans as well in tracks as “Metal Generation.” Maybe Metal is the musical style that promotes itself the most.

“Silver Romance” commences with a perfect track called can you wonder? “Silver Romance.” Aha, got you! The speed-of-light velocity of the drumming may astonish the fan if he is not aware of it. Pure energy. The perfect invitation card for an album like this one. Power Metal at its best. So, very predictable – hahahahahahahaha. No Power Metal album can go through this page without this term. Then comes “Symphony of Avalon” with some more cadence alied to the speed. Another track that could come from any Power Metal band from the 1980’s. Following track “Supernova” adds a facete some bands as Metalite and Battle Beast are using now which is adding the 1980’s keyboards I aforementioned. In this very particular case of Freedom Call, from where I’m standing, instead of taking out the energy and the power, the keyboards add lots of them due to the contrast. Never mind the gluey chorus that I’m still trying to get out of my mind.

So, this is it. Freedom Call “Silver Romance” is an album that mixes the standard energetic Power Metal of the 1980’s with some of the same epoch keyboards brought from Hard Rock. The outcome is something very enthusiastic with great deals of emotion. Add to the songs with very gluey choruses. The ones that will make you my dear child of the night singalong without even noticing. Yeah, “Silver Romance” is addictive. Pay close attention.

Freedom Call “Silver Romance” will be released on May 10th via Steamhammer / SPV.
