METALLICA’s KIRK HAMMETT Messes Up ‘Nothing Else Matters’ Intro At Power Trip Festival

At the recent edition of Power Trip festival, METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett faced a minor setback during their performance. Hammett had a bit of difficulty playing the intro to the band’s iconic ballad, “Nothing Else Matters.”

The incident was captured on video, showing Hammett acknowledging the audience and apologizing for his error, blaming the intense desert heat for his slip-up.

“Sorry, guys. I did it again. I screwed it up again. I’m gonna play it again for you.” After taking a couple of steps back, he returned to the mic and told the crowd, “You know, it’s really hot in this f**king desert.”

This isn’t a first for Hammett, as another video from August 2023 had also shown him struggling with the same intro [3]. Despite this hiccup, METALLICA‘s 16-song set, which included hits like “Enter Sandman,” was well-received, with their performance closing out the festival.
