Bloodbound The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood 2004-2024 Review

One more alive album to honor the 20th anniversary of career of a Metal band. For all metallers all around this sad and lonely and pathetic little planet this is a moment of joy. A Metal show is the moment of glory of a Metal band and the fans. It’s a moment of a social catharsis. It’s the apex of music itself because Metal is one of the music styles that insist on having musicians who actually play their instruments. It is not on the table if they are good or bad musicians. The fact is they are musicians. In a world where AIs of all kinds are taking the lead, Metal stands out as a rebellion.

Alright, Bloodbound were founded in 2004 by keyboard player Fredrik Bergh and guitarist Tomas Olsson, both of whom are still significantly involved in the band’s sound and act as main songwriters. The first studio album “Nosferatu” was released in 2005 and was followed by nine more works. Since then, albums such as
“Creatures of the Dark Realm,” “Rise of the Dragon Empire,” and “Tales from the North” have been released. We had the honor of reviewing two of their albums. The first was 2019’s “Rise of the Dragon Empire” where we could try the band’s flair for the grand and its following 2023’s “Tales from the North” when the band took the Viking drakkar.

“The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood 2004-2024” keeps what it promises, that is, to be a homage to the band’s 20th anniversary. The album is pretty much well-balanced and delivers an equal number of songs of each moment of the career. As most of Metal bands an alive album is always a chance to see how the band does it alive. Musicwise, Bloodbound do it good. Power Metal is always more dramatic alive. “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood 2004-2024” keeps this promise as well.

There is only one little thing that bothers me about “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood 2004-2024” and that is the particpation of the crowd. I mean, there is very little sound from the crowd. It’s almost, I said almost, a studio album in terms of crowd. I miss a louder crowd, that’s what I’m trying to say. Maybe it’s the mix. I don’t know.

Bloodbound “The Tales of Nosferatu – Two Decades of Blood 2004-2024” was released on April 19th via AFM Records.
