MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE have shared a statement on the passing of former drummer Bob Bryar.
TMZ reports that Bryar was discovered dead at his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, November 26. He was last seen on November 4.
Authorities have ruled out foul play, noting no signs of a struggle or theft at the scene.
Two dogs were removed from the property by Animal Control after Bryar‘s decomposed body was found. The medical examiner is now working to determine the cause and manner of his death.
Yesterday (December 2), MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE released the following statement via social media: “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.
“We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time.
“May he rest in peace.”
Bryar joined MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE as a replacement for drummer Matt Pelissier shortly after the release of their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004). He contributed to all subsequent releases supporting the album and played a key role in the band’s critically acclaimed concept album, The Black Parade (2006). Despite numerous injuries sustained on tour, Bryar continued performing and recorded with the band for their fourth studio album. He left MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE in 2010, with his final work featured on Conventional Weapons (2013), their last release before disbanding.
After leaving the band, Bryar transitioned to working behind the scenes on tours for various artists and retired from music in 2014. He later became a real estate agent and devoted himself to supporting dog rescue charities and sanctuaries.
