ROB ZOMBIE has parted ways with longtime bassist, Matt “Piggy D.” Montgomery.

Matt Montgomery, known by his stage name “Piggy D.,” had been an integral part of ROB ZOMBIE‘s band for a significant stretch of time, contributing not only his bass prowess but also his stage presence and creative energy to the group’s dynamic performances.

Montgomery wrote in a statement on Instagram: “Dear Friends. My time with ZOMBIE has come to an end. It was an honor to entertain you for the last 18 years.”

“I look forward to the future and wish everyone the best. Peace & Love, Matt Montgomery aka Count D.Piggy D., Giggles”.

Montgomery joined Rob Zombie‘s band in 2006, stepping in as the replacement for Rob “Blasko” Nicholson. Nicholson‘s departure from Zombie‘s group in May 2006 was prompted by his decision to join Ozzy Osbourne‘s recording and touring lineup.

Montgomery served as the bassist on several of ROB ZOMBIE‘s studio albums, including Hellbilly Deluxe 2 (2010), Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (2013), The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser (2016), and The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy (2021).
