SATYRICON’s SATYR Joins PANTERA For ‘Walk’ Performance At Norway’s TONS OF ROCK (Video)

Pantera with Satyr

On Friday, June 23rd at the Tons Of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway, Sigurd “Satyr” Wongraven, the lead singer of SATYRICON, made a surprise appearance on stage with PANTERA. The band performed their classic hit “Walk,” with Wongraven lending his powerful voice to the performance.

In 2018, Satyr revealed that Anselmo‘s severe drug addiction caused the disintegration of his EIBON project.

The black metal supergroup, comprising Satyr, PANTERA‘s vocalist, Fenriz from DARKTHRONE, and Kiljoy from NECROPHAGIA, released one song on Moonfog RecordsA Different Perspective sampler over 20 years ago. Although they were working on a debut album, the project was eventually abandoned and never heard from again.

As previously reported, PANTERA surviving members, Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown, reformed the band with Zakk Wylde on guitar (from OZZY OSBOURNE and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and Charlie Benante on drums (from ANTHRAX).

According to Billboard, the lineup has been given a green light by the estates of the band’s founders, drummer Vincent “Vinnie Paul” Abbott and guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, as well as Brown, who last year said Wylde wouldn’t tour with PANTERA if a reunion were to happen. It’s unclear what changed his mind.
