Earlier today (Tuesday, April 16), MEGADETH delighted fans in Argentina with an unexpected acoustic performance.
The band, featuring guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine, bassist James LoMenzo, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, and drummer Dirk Verbeuren, treated fans to a three-song set outside Hotel Madero in Buenos Aires. In August 2016, MEGADETH treated their fans to a brief acoustic performance outside the Four Seasons hotel in Buenos Aires. Less than two years later, in May 2018, Dave Mustaine surprised fans with another impromptu acoustic set outside his hotel in Mendoza, Argentina. Mustaine was in town for a few days of relaxation and visits to local wineries after a series of shows in Mexico earlier that month.
MEGADETH performed the first two shows at the 15,000-capacity Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14.
Following the rapid sell-out of the first Movistar Arena concert within minutes, the band swiftly scheduled an additional date at the same venue. Remarkably, this second performance sold out in just two hours, as reported by concert promoter Ake Music Productions. Subsequently, MEGADETH disclosed plans for a third show at the Movistar Arena on April 16.
