At a celebration event for his upcoming solo album CMF2 on August 7 at Kingston’s Pryzm nightclub, Corey Taylor participated in a Q&A session.
In a poignant moment towards the conclusion of the evening, captured on video by an attendee, the lead singer of SLIPKNOT became emotional. During a candid conversation about mental health, he expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support throughout his career, a sentiment that moved him to tears.
He said: “I want you to know something. For the longest time, I didn’t have a lot of reasons in my heart to live, but as my life has gone on, and you guys have been there for me, you have no idea…”.
“I promise you this. I promise you this, as long as you are here, I will always be here for you,” Corey continued.
Elsewhere in the discussing, Taylor discloses the guidance he would offer to his younger self, stating “Honestly, I would tell… and this is true, I would tell my 18 year old self that it’s going to be okay, because no one ever f**king told me that. And anyone who needs to hear that, right now, listen to me. It is going to be okay, no matter what is going on, it is all temporary. And you can get through it because you’re f**king stronger than you god damn think.”
