Dave Grohl, with the help of Jack Black, has graced us all with their Hanukkah Session performance of RUSH‘s “The Spirit of Radio.” As with all the performances throughout the week, they performed it in front a live audience at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles. Watch below to be wowed!
Accompanying the cover’s release, Grohl added: “Geddy Lee’s mother was so proud of her son that she put RUSH posters up all over their family store and gave away RUSH albums to kids who didn’t have money to buy them. In tribute to that proud Jewish mother, we give you — free of charge— ‘The Spirit Of Radio’ featuring Jack Black!”
This year, the Hanukkah Sessions series has welcomed a host of celebrated Jewish musicians to join in on their star-studded covers. Judd Apatow lent his vocal talents for BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS’ “Spinning Wheel”, P!nk joined forces with them for her hit single “Get The Party Started,” and Inara George collaborated with Grohl and Kurstin to perform 10cc‘s classic love song “The Things We Do For Love.”
