Dave Mustaine has shared the first teaser of new MEGADETH music in form of a 46-second clip of Dirk Verbeuren rocking the drum kit.
Dave captioned the clip: “The Cheshire Cat is smiling! Enjoy a lil tease. @Megadeth @VerbeurenDirk #Album16”
Three days ago (November 3), Dave confirmed that the band was starting to work on their new studio album, writing via Twitter: “Today, our drummer Dirk Verbeuren and I start MEGADETH Album 16 with ‘Dystopia’ co-producer and Grammy-winning partner Chris Rakestraw at my side again. No Rest For The Wicked! (relax…that’s not the new title).”
MEGADETH‘s latest album, “Dystopia” opened with 48,000 copies, marking MEGADETH‘s highest-charting album since 1992’s “Countdown To Extinction” debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the chart dated August 1 of that year. “Dystopia” also logs the group’s best sales week since 2007, when “United Abominations” landed at No. 8 with first-week sales of 54,000.
