FREDDIE MERCURY Might Return To The Stage As A Hologram: Trademark Application Filed For His Name In 3D And Virtual Reality

According to The Sun, there are reports indicating that Freddie Mercury may once again grace the stage, this time as a hologram. The company responsible for managing his catalog has applied for a trademark for his name in 3D and virtual reality formats.

This development suggests that the iconic QUEEN frontman, who passed away 33 years ago, could potentially be digitally resurrected for live performances, similar to the ABBA Voyage residency in East London. Legal documents reveal that the name has been specifically reserved for “immersive 3D virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences,” as well as “virtual environments.”

Additionally, the trademark registered under Mercury Songs Limited also extends to video games. Freddie Mercury passed away in London in 1991 at the age of 45.

QUEEN bandmate Brian May said last year: “We’ve talked about and looked at holograms of Freddie. We love to be live and dangerous, that’s it, that’s our emphasis.

“Now, when we’re all gone, yeah sure, make an ABBA thing about us, but while we’re here I want to play live.”
