HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta has called out IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson for berating fans who were smoking weed during the band’s recent show in Anaheim, California. At MAIDEN’s September 21 show at the Honda Center, the 64-year-old Dickinson took a few minutes to excoriate a handful of people who were allegedly smoking weed right in front of him and his bandmates while they were playing.

“I don’t know what it is,” Dickinson told the crowd. “There’s so many f**king people smoking so much f**king dope down here, I’m amazed you can even see. Poor old Steve [Harris]. I don’t know if you know, but he absolutely f**king hates marij*ana and the smell of it, alright? So when he’s trying to play bass, it f*cks him up.

“It f*cks me up. I’m a singer, alright? So duh. I would just ask for a tiny bit of respect — if you want to go get completely stoned out of your f**king mind, go out the back and do it. Alright? Otherwise you’re going to end up like this f**king knucklehead here going ‘uhhhh.’”

Now, Jasta took to his Twitter, writing: “Bruce Dickinson if you read this. Hi. You’re a great vocalist/frontman. We took your son’s band on tour. Hope you are well. Just so ya know. Lots of people like to smoke weed at outdoor concerts. WHAT DOESN’T ANNOY YOU BRO?!?! Besides flying planes? Lol you might need a puff or 2.”

HATEBREED once toured with RISE TO REMAIN, the group once fronted by Bruce‘s son Austin.

British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN will bring a new tour to Europe in the summer of 2023, including arena shows in the U.K. and Ireland. IRON MAIDEN‘s “The Future Past Tour” tour will see band performing songs from their latest album Senjutsu as well as from 1986’s Somewhere In Time along with other fan favorites.
