Joe Lynn Turner, an American singer known for his work with the hard rock bands RAINBOW and DEEP PURPLE, returned to Moscow, Russia, to perform classic songs from these bands on October 3.
His concert took place at the 1930 club. Turner‘s decision to perform in Russia comes amidst many international artists canceling their appearances in response to the war in Ukraine.
Turner, who has previously expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has a history of public political commentary. He once compared Putin to “good gangsters” in his family who protected their community and donated to good causes. He also criticized politicians for their inability to cover up their crimes.
