During a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich looked back on the band’s 2017 Grammy Awards show live performance with Lady Gaga.
When asked to comment on Lady Gaga, Hetfield said: “I just respect her as an artist. She was there for two hours before we even got there, working on her moves and thinking stuff up. She is extremely creative and a fearless artist.”
Lars added: “She loves metal. She was telling me that ‘Metal Militia,’ which is this deep cut on our first album, [1983’s] Kill ‘Em All, was her favorite song back in the day.”
METALLICA and Lady Gaga collaborated to perform “Moth Into Flame” at the Grammy awards in 2017 but performance was marred by technical difficulties.
Frontman James Hetfield’s microphone was mistakenly switched off — which forced him to share one with Gaga — and as fans watched him throw his guitar off stage in protest, the whole debacle played out live on television.
