MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN Slams ‘D**khead’ Fan For Using Phone During TOOL Show (Video)

Maynard James Keenan

TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan is known for his uncompromising attitude towards live performances and his disdain for distractions that detract from the concert experience. In a recent incident, Keenan publicly criticized a fan for using their phone during a TOOL show, labeling the individual a ‘d**khead’.

Over the past few years, TOOL has maintained a stringent policy regarding cell phone usage at their shows, prohibiting fans from using them for the majority of the performance duration. Generally, attendees are granted authorization to record the final song of each night’s set.

A video of the band performing the song “Intolerance” from Undertow on February 14 was shared by a Reddit user. In the clip, Keenan can be heard shouting: “Put your f**king phone away, d**khead, seriously!”

One person commented: “I was at the show in Fresno and he gave a little speech at the beginning of the show of how if we behave with phones we’ll be able to record the last song. Sadly we didn’t get that and they just played ‘Stinkfist’ without announcing that we can record. It seems like he’s really upset about the whole phone thing since I’ve never heard him give that speech before.”

“He told us in Corpus that if we couldn’t go two hours without our phones in our hands, we should be in a mental institution,” another fan wrote.
