Dave Mustaine Italy

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has announced his decision to move to Italy. This announcement was made at the AMA Music Festival in Vicenza, Italy, where he disclosed his recent acquisition of a house in the country.

Despite the move, Mustaine has plans to maintain his U.S. residency. A notable detail of this relocation is its alignment with his family’s wine company, House of Mustaine, which has recently expanded its operations to Italy.

Mustaine told the crowd: “I have something very special I need to tell you guys… A couple of weeks ago I just bought a house in Italy. So think about that — you wake up tomorrow morning and you see me out your window, and I’m walking with my boxes. And you go, ‘F**k, man, that looks like Dave Mustaine. Look at all those guitars. S**t, that’s gotta be him.'”

“I’ve gotta tell you, I am so excited to be able to call Italy a new place for us to live,” he continued. “And I wanna thank you all for your graciousness and helping teach me how to be a good resident here and to learn how to live the Italian life.”

“What I said about me moving over here is true,” he later added during the show. “And I’m really excited to live in Italy when we do. We’re gonna keep our residency in the States, but we are gonna be living here. And we really look forward to meeting a lot of you. And I think we’re gonna have a lot of fun together.”

On July 23, 2023, MEGADETH launched the European leg of their “Crush The World” tour, commencing the summer concerts at the Triple Thrash Triumph festival held at Spodek in Katowice, Poland.

In September 2022, MEGADETH‘s latest studio album, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!, made an impressive debut, seizing the third position on the Billboard 200 chart during its initial week of release.

It also topped several other charts including Top Album Sales, Top Current Albums Sales, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums. Globally, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! was MEGADETH’s most successful chart-topper till date. It secured the first position in Finland, ranked second in Australia, Poland, Switzerland, and Scotland, and stood third in the U.K, along with several other commendable positions.
