Bruce Dickinson 2023

As reported by ReptilesMagazine.com, a recently discovered lizard species has been designated with the name Enyalioides dickinsoni, in honor of Bruce Dickinson, the lead vocalist of IRON MAIDEN.

Discovered within the Cordillera de Colán mountain range, approximately 460 miles north of Lima, Peru, this lizard species has been identified across three distinct localities. Its habitat spans coffee plantations, cacao and citrus farms, as well as cow pastures, alongside mountainous forests located at elevations ranging from 4,600 to 5,600 feet (1,405-1,717 m).

LatinAmerican Post says that naming of Enyalioides dickinsoni in honor of Bruce Dickinson “is a testament to the enduring influence of cultural figures on scientific discovery. It’s a reminder of the interconnectedness of our world, where the legacy of a heavy metal icon can extend into the realms of environmental conservation and scientific research. This discovery not only enriches our understanding of the biodiversity of the Amazon but also celebrates the multifaceted contributions of individuals like Dickinson to global culture and awareness.”

In 2019, Brazilian biologist Christina Rheims unveiled four previously unknown huntsman spider species, including one named in tribute to her favorite musicians, including Dickinson Dubbed Extraordinarius bruceinkinsoni, this species is distributed across Central and South America. Notably, it belongs to a spider genus also identified by Rheims, who, incidentally, shares a passion for heavy metal music.

Dickinson will release his new solo album, The Mandrake Project, on March 1 via BMG. Alongside the album, Bruce also announced an exciting collaboration with Z2 for an upcoming comic series. To the delight of the international comic community, 2,000 exclusive versions of the comic were unveiled at CCXP, adding to the excitement surrounding this extraordinary project.

With ten captivating and innovative tracks, The Mandrake Project promises to be a definitive rock album of 2024, showcasing Bruce Dickinson’s exceptional vocal prowess and his long-standing partnership with co-writer and producer Roy “Z” Ramirez.
