On December 12th, at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, PANTERA frontman Philip Anselmo joined SEPULTURA onstage to perform their classic “Arise.”

SEPULTURA performed as the support act for PANTERA at an arena that seats 17,000 people. This show took place a couple of hours after Rex Brown, PANTERA‘s bassist, confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19 and wouldn’t be able to perform with them at Knotfest Chile in Santiago on Sunday (December 11) or the following day’s concert. Derek Engemann from CATTLE DECAPITATION and Bobby Landgraf filled in for him. Both Engemann and Landgraf have previously played with Anselmo in other bands like PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS and SCOUR respectively.

After PANTERA‘s show in Santiago “sold out so quickly,” the band moved their headlining concert to an earlier date at Movistar.

As previously reported, PANTERA surviving members, Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown, reformed the band with Zakk Wylde on guitar (from OZZY OSBOURNE and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and Charlie Benante on drums (from ANTHRAX). They will be playing at festivals all over North America, South America, Europe as well their own headline concerts.
