While his bandmates were celebrating their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE’s frontman Zack de la Rocha was marching for a different cause. The singer joined hundreds of thousands of protesters in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 4th, to demand an end to the Israeli attacks on Gaza and support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

De la Rocha, who is known for his outspoken political views and activism, was spotted by hardcore videographer Sunny Singh of hate5six, who shared a photo of himself with the vocalist on X. Singh wrote that he and de la Rocha talked for a while about how this is a tipping point in history and how people are waking up to the interconnectedness of the fight for liberation, from Ferguson to Gaza.

The march on Washington was one of many that have taken place around the world in recent weeks, as the death toll from the Israeli strikes on Gaza has risen to nearly 10,000, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Many of the protesters called for action from US President Joe Biden, who has been criticized for his tepid response to the crisis and his continued support for Israel.
