GHOST Scores Its First U.S. Top 10 Album With ‘Meliora’

Swedish metal band GHOST scores its first top 10 album on The Billboard 200 chart with the debut of Meliora at No. 8 (just over 29,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales). The set, which is the act’s third studio effort, follows the No. 28-peaking Infestissumam, which was released in 2013 and has sold 66,000.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Meliora was released on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings, and it was the first album with band’s new singer, Papa Emeritus III, who replaced his 3 months older brother, Papa Emeritus II.
