‘Why Do We Suffer?’ If We Have DEEP MEMORIES

Deep Memories are a One Man Band from Americana, from the state of São Paulo, founded by musician and producer Douglas Martins in 2016.
Even after leaving Desdominus in 2005, Douglas Martins remained composing his own material for what would become Deep Memories.
In musical terms, the compositions showcase different cadence, weight and nuances, mixing melody and aggressiveness with beautiful guitar duets, an atmosphere that refers to great metal icons worldwide, such as Death Metal, Doom Metal, Gothic Metal and Progressive Metal with and vocals varied from narrations, sung parts, choirs and the most poignant torn and guttural vocal.
The lyrics theme revolves around the very name “Deep Memories – Deep Memories.” DOUGLAS MARTINS talks a little about that. “When we read these words, we are immediately recalled to memories of very significant moments of our existence such as illnesses and deaths, disappointments, obsessions, moments of panic and depression and if we talk about psyche, we have totally inaccessible records in our memories, which store few lapses exploited by the human race ”.
This is the lyrical theme of Deep Memories: Exposing what these memories have produced, produce and can still influence in the direction of the intellectual, social and spiritual character of the human race.
His first album was recorded, produced and mixed by Douglas Martins during excerpts from 2016 and 2018 at AJM studio in Americana / SP.
On June 21st, 2018, the first Music Video of the song “The Bitter Taste of Illusion” was released on all social media. The reception was very good among the headbangers and the specialized media.

November 6, 2018 marked the release date of the second lyric video for the song “Suffocating Grayish Darkness.” This video was produced by Igor Sacilloto, who worked on the video “Lying in State” by Megadeth.

In September 2022 Deep Memories released on CD and on all digital platforms their second album entitled “Why Do We Suffer?”. With an above average heaviness and even more atmospheric incursions, this new album embodies the traditional styles of Doom and Death Metal but with a melodic and absolutely contemporary characteristics. The blackened air of Black Metal highlighted the songs, which also have gothic nuances, sometimes sounding like extreme progressive metal. In all, there are 7 songs totaling 41 minutes of recording.
The album artwork was created by Iranian graphic artist Agreen Paymazd and Douglas Martins. The cover illustrates the emotional charge generated by human suffering. This approach guided the entire theme of the lyrics surrounded by a high degree of introspection, leading us to reflect on the fragility of human existence when facing the challenges of life on planet earth.
For “Why Do We Suffer?” release, a lyric video was prepared for the song “Please, do not close the Coffin!” which was created by Wanderley Perna from W Design. For the CD version release, Douglas Martins signed an exclusive contract with the Brazilian label Heavy Metal Rock, which had previously released “Rebuilding the Future” on CD and Vinyl.
