Is AMY LEE New LINKIN PARK Singer? She Responds

Amy Lee

During a recent interview on Canada’s iHeart Radio, Amy Lee of EVANESCENCE was asked about the recent speculations regarding LINKIN PARK potentially hiring a female vocalist and the wishes of some LP fans for her to fill the void left by the late Chester Bennington.

She responded: “That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted [by LINKIN PARK] or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.”

“That’s really sweet. We never… Well, did we play shows [together]? I don’t know if [EVANESCENCE and LINKIN PARK] were on a festival together or whatever. We met. We were in the studio at the same time. When we were making ‘Fallen’, I just briefly got to have a conversation or two with Chester. He was really sweet.

“But no, it’s not true,” she added. “But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time.”

The speculation concerning LINKIN PARK‘s recruitment of a female vocalist seems to have originated from ORGY frontman Jay Gordon who mentioned in a radio interview that he had “heard” they were collaborating with a “girl singer now.”

During a recent conversation with KCAL 96.7’s RadioActive Mike Z. for his Wired in the Empire weekend radio show, Gordon delved into past experiences with LINKIN PARK, reminiscing about their shared history.

“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band,” he said. “They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it,” remarked the singer. “It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

Following Mike Z.’s suggestion about the band’s potential return, Gordon slightly retracted his statement and then added: “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

Following Chester Bennington‘s death in 2017, the band came together once more on stage for a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The event celebrated Bennington‘s life and the band’s music, with numerous peers taking on vocal responsibilities.

However, they haven’t officially announced any plans to continue as LINKIN PARK without Bennington.
