Rock T-shirts

According to a recent survey, approximately 10% of individuals who sport band t-shirts have never actually listened to the featured band’s music. Custom Inks, a t-shirt printing company, conducted this survey by analyzing Google search trends and polling 1,000 Americans.

The findings revealed that a staggering 34% of Americans are comfortable wearing t-shirts from concerts or tours they did not attend. Even more concerning, 10% of respondents admitted to proudly wearing band t-shirts without ever having heard the band’s music.

However, amidst these unsettling statistics, there are some positive insights. Metal fans emerged as the most dedicated fans of music-themed apparel, averaging 10 band shirts per person, the highest among all music genre fans. Additionally, metal fans were found to be the most financially committed, spending an average of $500 on band shirts in their lifetimes, approximately $100 more than fans of other genres.

In terms of popularity within the metal community, TESTAMENT‘s band t-shirts topped the list based on search volume, closely followed by TRIVIUM and LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES. Surprisingly, the most sought-after t-shirts belong to Olivia Rodrigo.

On average, fans possess six music-themed t-shirts. Interestingly, 30% of the surveyed population expressed no issue with seeing others wearing t-shirts from bands they do not listen to, asserting that band shirts are suitable for everyone.
