COREY TAYLOR On SLIPKNOT’s New Keyboardist: ‘He’s A Total Musician’

Corey Taylor Slipknot New Keyboardist

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor spoke to Finland’s Chaoszine about the band’s new keyboard player. This comes two weeks after SLIPKNOT revealed that Craig Jones had left the group.

“Obviously, any time you have a change like that, it makes you have to kind of lean into adversity a little bit,” Corey said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth). “We took a little more time to kind of figure things out. Obviously, [him being a] new guy.”

“[He’s] good — really good. He’s a total musician. But it took him a second to kind of find his way. But now he’s killing it; now he’s really, really good.”

Hours after the band revealed on social media on June 7 that Jones was no longer with them, SLIPKNOT performed at the Nova Rock festival in Austria with a new member.

Jones joined SLIPKNOT in 1996, shortly after the group had completed their demo album, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. In addition, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan will miss some of the band’s upcoming tour dates to stay at home and support his wife who is dealing with some medical issues.
