I had always felt like Metal music and extreme sports were a perfect match due to both philosophies of life. The way I see both live on the edge. Both are always looking for new sensations, for new emotions. Both go to the extreme. Always. I guess it’s such a shame very few bands explore the world of speed and velocity all kind of races deliver.
Ok, then, this is a very special project named I Am the Intimidator with their self-tittled album “I Am the Intimidator,” of course. Basically, I Am the Intimidator explore a fantasy-based reimagining detailing the final day of Dale Earnhardt’s life. Earnhardt died while competing in the 2001 Daytona 500, and ultimately led to changes in safety measures in NASCAR racing. The story of the album celebrates with a bang the legacy of Dale Earnhardt’s life. I Am the Intimidator are the product of the mind of Andrew Stromstad who wrote, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered all the album. Live band is Braden Boardman, guitars; Lucas Salazar, guitars; Devonte Calvin, bass, and Cody Pulliam, Drums.
“I Am the Intimidator” commences with the very enthusiastic and exciting “No Regrets,” a song that smells gasoline with a very touching main guitar riff, one of the kind the fan hums all day long. The song gives the tone of the gasoline-drenched album with a violent Old School Heavy Metal bordering Thrash Metal sometimes. However, the spirit of the album is tracks as tittle track “I Am the Intimidator” with those choruses we all sing along and remind forever. A six-minute mix of Iron Maiden and Accept. The opening guitar theme of “I Am Here… Now” tells the same Old School Heavy Metal tale even though the press release tells the fan this is a Thrash Metal effort. The problem is I don’t see how though. It’s an album which smells gaswoline and Old School Heavy Metal. The grand finale is with “Crying from the Abyss” which is the final homage to the life Dale Earnhardt. I can’t help it but say it’s well-deserved.
I Am the Intimidator “I Am the Intimidator” was released on March 08th via Miserable Pyre.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
