MÖTLEY CRÜE legendary guitarist Mick Mars is all set to release his first-ever solo single on October 30 via SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” before being released via all digital music services the next day.. Known for his reserved demeanour, Mars has piqued curiosity by launching a 13-day countdown timer and releasing a captivating teaser video.
This release is a result of Mars‘ dedication and hard work over the last six to seven years. The single is a part of his long-awaited solo album, which is described as heavy and versatile, showcasing Mars‘ exceptional musicianship and songwriting abilities.
“Trunk Nation” host Eddie Trunk posted the following message via social media: “Pleased to announce that I will be bringing you the world premier of the first ever solo music from @mrmickmars on #trunknation ! I’ll debut the song 10/30, Mick will join me for an interview 10/31! @SIRIUSXM 103 Faction Talk @TrunkNationSXM . 3P ET”.
In an interview with Rolling Stone this past June, Mars confirmed that he is currently searching for a record label to release his first-ever solo album, titled Another Side Of Mars.
The album is expected to have a darker and more aggressive sound compared to the music of MÖTLEY CRÜE. Mars has also revealed some of the song titles that will be featured on the album, which include “Broken On The Inside,” “Alone,” “Lonely In Your Grave,” “Loyal To The Lie,” “Decay,” “Fear,” “Memories,” and “Erased.”
According to Mars, he has no plans to tour in support of the upcoming LP. “I’m done touring,” he said. “If somebody really, really wants a one-off, or a couple of nights, I would probably do it. But all that travel stuff and planes … I’m way over it.”
He also disclosed that he parted with his portion of the CRÜE catalog’s publishing rights recently. “The deal was just finalized,” Mars said. “Now I can relax and don’t have to worry about anything, since, like I said, I’m probably just going to live another seven or eight years.”
The 71-year-old was asked how he is certain that he won’t live past eight years, to which he responded: “I’m old enough, man. I’m not going to live to be 85 or 90, I just have a feeling. I don’t want to, either. My brain doesn’t want this ugly-ass body that’s all f**ked up to keep going. I wish I could just take the information out of my brain, put it on a chip and into somebody else, or a robot. There’s still a lot of stuff going on up there.”
Mars is currently suing CRÜE alleging that the band reduced his share of earnings from 25 percent to a mere 5 percent after revealing his decision to withdraw from touring. Additionally, he states that the group’s attorneys made him feel as if he should appreciate this minimal portion, as they believed they had no obligation to provide him with anything. Mick also asserts that a complete band gathering took place where they chose to “unilaterally” exclude him from MÖTLEY CRÜE.
Mick consistently alleged that bassist Nikki Sixx was “gaslighting” him by suggesting his guitar abilities were declining, even though Sixx didn’t “play a single note on bass” throughout a recent tour, as stated by the guitarist. Mick asserts that all of Nikki‘s segments were pre-recorded.
