Playboi Carti unveiled a fresh mask recently, which has sparked recognition among SLIPKNOT fans.
Towards the end of February, both Underground Sound and Hyperpop Daily shared clips of Carti donning his new mask backstage at Accor Arena in Paris, France. Upon soliciting opinions about his new appearance, numerous respondents quickly pointed out its striking resemblance to the mask previously worn by Chris Fehn during his tenure with SLIPKNOT.
Carti‘s mask boasts a solid black hue adorned with silver studs encircling the facial plate’s edges, but its standout characteristic is the elongated nose reminiscent of Pinocchio’s. Meanwhile, Fehn, the ex-SLIPKNOT percussionist, gained recognition for donning a comparable mask featuring an extended nose during his tenure with the band, commonly referred to as “The Liar” mask.
“SLIPKNOT did it first buh it’s still tuff af,” one person said, while another added, “Copying SLIPKNOT is crazy” and third person added, “Love carti but the slipknot biting is insane.”
Additionally, amidst SLIPKNOT‘s recent lineup fluctuations, jests were circulating in the Instagram thread suggesting Playboi Carti as the band’s newfound drummer.
