
Former ANTHRAX singer Dan Nelson has been arrested for beating a 74-year-old man inside a Queens, New York hotel last month, The New York Post reports.
Nelson got angry after the elderly man asked him a question at the Aloft New York LaGuardia Airport hotel in East Elmhurst around 11 p.m. on Aug. 30, police said.
“He just goes bananas,” a family member of one of the older man’s companions told Patch. “He knocked the old guy down.”
After turning himself in at the 115th Precinct at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nelson was charged with assault, assault with intent to cause physical injury and harassment.
Nelson was officially in ANTHRAX for nearly two years, from late 2007 until July 2009, during which time he recorded an early version of the band’s Worship Music album.
