Satanic Tea Co. – A Celestial Beating Review

My dear child of the night knows I never pick on band’s name, but I would never realize a band with a band as Satanic Tea Co. As long as I know, the band’s name was inspired on a clothing retailer that sold tea as an accessory, but it soon became clear that the beverage side of the business was where its future lay. Odd, pretty odd, if you know what I mean. Fortunately for the band’s sake, “A Celestial Beating” is a great Death Metal album with a truckload of Hardcore influence.

“A Celestial Beating” is an album that explores sinister religious and cult themes and is best enjoyed with your favorite cuppa. Beatiing is a term that is very well aplied here to explain the music here. “A Celestial Beating” is a relentless musical beating in all senses. By the way, when I said truckload of Hardcore influence I meant Metal guitars with the Hardcore spirit. I guess that explains better the music my dear child of the night will find in here.

The EP is opened up by the short but efficient “Purgatory Precursor” with a real blast to my dear child of the night ears. A catchy guitar riff intertwined with smoking drums gives the tone. Short, but very effective. Then comes “Septic Savior” with more blast beats and a relentless drumming that leaves nothing behind. It’s the destructive guitar riff that addresses to Sepultura’s golden age of “Arise” with the same punch and groove. The track showcases a band that can easily go from the heaviest Extreme Metal to catchier tunes. That’s what Satanic Tea Co really are. Never forgetting the Hardcore spirit, better yet, the anarchic spirit of Hardcore.

My dear child of the night will enjoy “A Celestial Beating” just because there is no track with the same vibe. In fact, all six tracks are pretty different from each other which is a huge pro.

Satanic Tea Co. “A Celestial Beating” will be released on September 29th.
