Germany’s EMP Rock Invasion recently conducted an interview with ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian. You can now watch the chat below.
Elaborating on his previous comment that he would like to see pop superstar Lady Gaga cover an ANTHRAX song, Ian said: “Yeah, why not? She’s into metal. She’s a genuine metalhead. So why not hear her sing… it doesn’t even have to be an ANTHRAX song. I don’t care… I would like to hear her sing in a metal way. [Maybe she could do a cover of] something off the [latest ANTHRAX] album [‘Worship Music’]. I don’t know… ‘In The End’. That might be kind of cool to hear her sing that. I mean, she’s got a great singing voice, so I just think it would be cool to hear her take on a metal song, because she’s definitely got the chops for it.” Asked why ANTHRAX doesn’t ask Lady Gaga to make a guest appearance on the band’s next studio album, Ian said: “Maybe we will.”
ANTHRAX‘s new concert film, “Chile On Hell”, will be released on September 16. The disc was was filmed at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on May 10, 2013 and features ANTHRAX performing an extended set that featured songs from the band’s entire catalogue.
“Chile On Hell” was produced by Jay Ruston and filmed by City Drive Entertainment Group and DC3 Global. The DVD’s cover art was designed by Stephen Thompson, who partnered with Benante to “redesign” the artwork from last year’s “Anthems” EP.
