Following their performance at Sick World festival, SLIPKNOT has officially announced Eloy Casagrande as their new drummer in a social media post paying homage to their early days. The post, simply captioned “2024 1999,” prominently features Casagrande along with other band members.
Casagrande joined SLIPKNOT in February, stepping into the role previously held by Jay Weinberg, who was unexpectedly dismissed in November 2023. His abrupt departure from SEPULTURA in February, just before the band’s 40th anniversary farewell tour rehearsals, hinted at his transition to SLIPKNOT.
Fans pieced together the timeline, deducing Casagrande‘s new role before his official debut with SLIPKNOT. However, SLIPKNOT‘s keyboardist remains unidentified following Craig Jones’ departure.
Before their appearance at Sick New World, SLIPKNOT performed an intimate show on Thursday night, April 25, at Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California.
For both the Pappy + Harriet’s and Sick New World shows, SLIPKNOT embraced a vintage aesthetic, reviving the iconic 1999 red jumpsuits and incorporating elements of their early masks into their contemporary designs. This nod to the past aligns with SLIPKNOT‘s celebration of their 25th anniversary this year.
