The Summer Slaughter Tour made its official comeback announcement earlier this, unveiling the majority of its lineup yesterday. This year’s edition showcases VEIL OF MAYA and BRAND OF SACRIFICE headlining for the first time, alongside GIDEON, LEFT TO SUFFER, TEN56, TALLAH, CABAL, and BRAT, among others.
Following reveal, criticism flooded the tour’s social media platforms, with many expressing disappointment in the lineup compared to previous years. Metal Sucks even took a jab at the roster in their headline, stating that the “first batch of Summer Slaughter Tour bands announced don’t hold a candle to years past.” In contrast, the 2019 lineup boasted names like CATTLE DECAPITATION, CARNIFEX, THE FACELESS, RIVERS OF NIHIL, NEKROGOBLIKON, LORNA SHORE, and BRAND OF SACRIFICE.
Festival organizer and Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen didn’t hold back in his response to Metal Sucks’ Instagram post, addressing those, particularly Metal Sucks, who voiced dissatisfaction with this year’s lineup.
In a now-deleted comment, he said: “regardless if we booked cannibal and fetus or resurrected necrophagist and cynic, you’re still a bunch of pro vaccine mandate brainwashed pharma cuck sheep bootlickers. have a good day and bow to your publicly traded owner, posers.”
The Summer Slaughter tour has later clarified to Lambgoat that the remark is directed explicitly towards “big government losers” Metal Sucks.
