During a recent concert in London, FOO FIGHTERS‘ frontman Dave Grohl made headlines with a remark that took a jab at pop superstar Taylor Swift. As the band rocked the stage, Grohl commented, “We actually play live,” a statement many interpreted as a dig at Swift.
While noting that Swift’s Eras Tour was currently underway at London’s Wembley Stadium, Grohl said on stage: “I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f**king errors as well. Just a couple.”
Grohl then suggested that Swift doesn’t perform live, telling the audience, “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f**king place.”
Despite having previously spoken positively about Swift, some fans believe Grohl is now targeting the singer. This speculation arises after his 17-year-old daughter faced harassment from “Swifties” following her criticism of Swift on social media for using private jets.
Swift appeared to counter Grohl‘s remarks during the third night of her London shows, taking a moment to acknowledge her live performers.
“Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much,” Swift said. “And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”
